Hi I'm Elaine.
I'm a hobby breeder of many different types of chickens. My breeds include Serama, Lavender and Gold Laced. I have a small flock of Ancona Ducks and sometimes cross-breed chickens too. Check out the breeds page for more information on each breed.
My chickens and ducks are free range throughout the day and are put away during the night to ensure their safety from night-time predators.
If handled a lot, my birds will become very friendly and they will love being around you. My own collection of chickens and ducks are used to being around our family dogs and have no fear of them! See photos of my dog Marcus playing with the chicks in my photo gallery.
I find it very therapeutic and lovely to sit and watch their antics while they forage for insects and dust bathe.
They tend to take themselves back to their coop at roughly the same time every night - just before dusk. You should always check and lock them up safely though!
I incubate and let my hens hatch their own eggs naturally.
